You dreamt of a house
Filled with people
Your guests
And everyone had their own room
You dreamt of a meeting arranged for day two
A meeting of all seventeen
One bathroom you had
And it made you quite mad
When the people
Went long
In the shower
So you asked me to help
And I gladly agreed
And became the official timer
Sometimes time was short
Yet sometimes it was long
But sometimes I’d just shut off the water
When the smile on your face
Would start to fade
I knew that their shower was over
I’d giggle and grin when they stepped from that room
With the soap
And the bubbles in their hair
And you didn’t care
For they’d give you a glare
But neither could you hold your laughter
We laughed ’til we cried
And the seventeen dried
And you knew it was not making us popular
But before you awoke
With a smile and a wink
And I think with a bold sauvoir faire
We grinned at the thought of the folks from the loo
The seventeen folks with their suds and shampoo
The seventeen folks who thought us uncool
“Who” I asked “takes care of you”?
