A letter from the Easter Bunny (for age 20)

Hello Dearest,

It’s me, the Easter Bunny! Wishing you the best tidings of this most wondrous of holiday seasons. I mean, I don’t mean to toot my own horn but come on, it’s Easter time! Could a Sunday get any better than this? No way! Yeah, I know Christmas has a lot of flash, but that Santa has no sense of art. Hello, the gifts are under the tree…again! Please.

Oh, hey! I also meant to tell you I was in your house. You guys must have been sleeping cause I didn’t see you stirring. I crept around really silent so you couldn’t hear me and hid some Easter goodies for you. You’ll never find them, not in a million years of searching. It’s like they’re not even there. But don’t you worry,   they are there!

I’ve always been really good at hiding things. You know how they say you can’t make an omelet without breaking some eggs? Well I always say you can’t break any eggs if you can’t find them!    I think I’m so good at hiding stuff cause I’ve got seven digits on each paw. That’s right, you heard me right, seven! That’s why I can move around so nimble and quiet like, like a cat, but quieter! Yeah, I know some people think seven digits is a bit odd but it’s not like I have a pointy head or something so give me a break already!

Hey! Want to hear some of my poetry? Sure you do!

With special care I hung you there

Time for snowmen to sleep

Now in heart home

And all alone, a shining stick of gold

What flash, what size, what memory

Wherever can it be?

Upon the egg? Beneath the egg? Perhaps it’s on the back

So pluck it off and don the boot and seven is the key

Well, so many letters to write before I’m done, but before I forget here’s a clue: 47612X + 89712. Tell a friend!

Have the swellest of Easters. Easter Bunny forever!

E.B.
