Songs From the 7th Glorious Hour is Big Poetry’s first studio release. Psychedelic and experimental, it was built over years from poetry, a Casio, and Ableton — an amateur’s tools wielded with complete seriousness, refined through long collaboration into something neither maker could have reached alone. The album is autobiographical and about its own making simultaneously. Each track was built around opposites — in the music and the lyrics both — and wasn’t finished until those opposites had resolved into something larger than either. The track sequence follows a descent and return that those who know the territory will recognize. Electronica freed from the metronome, lo-fi and hi-fi at once, it attempts to put more sound in the room than any single listening can hold. Every listen is a different record.
